Record del mondo dei 100 farfalla per Michael Phelps. Nel corso dei campionati Usa, Phelps ha fermato il cronometro in 50"22.
Il precedente primato del mondo dei 100 farfalla apparteneva a un altro statunitense, Ian Crocker, che ai Mondiali di Montreal del 2005 aveva nuotato in 50"40. (AGI)
