Booming Ice Chasm: Alberta, Canada
Two climbers explore
a newly-discovered cave in the Crows Nest Pass area of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada.
The cave, 450 feet under the ground and nearly half a mile long, is called
Booming Ice Chasm because of its remarkable acoustics, and because it is lined with ice dozens of feet thick. As melting snow and rainwater trickle down the entrance, it is turned into a natural frozen water slide.
