Clarissa Burt Biography
Clarissa Burt was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on the 25th day of April 1959.
After having lived and worked in Europe for the last 25 years, this “Whos’ Who” of American and International Women has recently relocated to the United States. Entrepreneur, TV/video producer, public speaker, author, writer,and entertainer her self-made success story has all the makings of a best selling novel.
In 1980 she headed off for the “bright lights” of Manhattan and started her career as a top model with the Wilhelmina modeling agency. Clarissa’s career skyrocketed when she relocated to Milan as she quickly began to appear on magazine covers. In 1991, she became the worldwide spokeswoman for Orlane cosmetics.and worked for various other cosmetic houses such as Revlon, Christian Dior, Carita’ Paris and Helena Rubenstein. Clarissa also conquered the world’s most prestigious runways from Paris to New York, Rome to Milan, Madrid to Tokyo and worked with the most important international photographers.
For the next 15 years Clarissa’s acting, presenting and singing popularity grew as she presented and guest starred in a number of popular movies and hundreds of television shows. In 1998 she played the part of the mean queen “Xayide” in the Warner Brothers sequel, The Never Ending Story Part II, a worldwide release still seen frequently on HBO.”
In Rome 1999, Clarissa opened the doors to Clarissa Burt Productions which specializes in television and video production. During this time she produced the Miss Universe Pageant, The World Sports Awards from Monte Carlo and Quizzauto for the Italian Department of Transportation. Clarissa Burt Productions also specialized in talent scouting and professional and personal image schooling for women and young girls helping many of them start their careers in television and film Clarissa also hosted her “beauty, image, and self-esteem” segment for Good Morning Italy with insightful suggestions for women of all ages.
Clarissa believes that “giving back” is all too important and lends her time to numerous charity causes garnering her two private audiences with Pope John Paul II for her inexaustable volunteer work. Silvio Berlusconi, the president of Italy, will call her to his side for “National Prevention Day” speaking out about the dangers of smoking and the importance of good health and nutrition. The Red Cross asked her to be Ambassador for Mauritania. Clarissa helped raise money for the cause.
On the political front, Clarissa was elected as City Council Woman in Ardea, Italy where she served for one year. After the fall of the Berlin wall, Clarissa was the first American to present a television show at the Kremlin and to appear on the front page of a Russian newspaper She emerged as a leading “de facto” face of America in post 9/11 Europe appearing on many polictially based telelvision shows.
Currently, Clarissa is working on distribution in the United States of her “Clarissa Burt Hair” and “Clarissa Burt Beauty” lines, which have garnered great success on the Home Shopping Network in Italy. Her production company Clarissa Burt Productions (USA) already has numerous clients, and her calendar is busy with motivational speaking engagements Her inspirational book is due out in this winter.
